All things fall.

Even Witches.

Supreme in their dominion over seasons, storms, and sea, the Witches have forgotten the unmatched destructiveness of mankind. And among the weapons men seek are the magical songs of the Witches.

Lilette is one of the few who see the decadence and decay weakening the Witches. As an outsider amid her own kind, can she help them survive the coming war?

I honestly don't even know where to begin with writing the review for this! I guess I should start by saying that to read Witch Fall you don't have to read the previous books. Witch Fall, though it is book number three in the series, is a prequel to the events that happen in the previous books. That's one of the reasons that I decided to join this tour. The other reason being that the premise was intriguing to me though I'm ashamed to admit I was a bit wary going into reading it. It sounded like it would be a really great read and that in itself makes me wary with any book. I had also forgotten the premise by the time I started reading it so I suppose that kept my expectations lower and also because of that everything that happened was a great surprise. I had no idea what was going on or even what would happen.

And so much did happen. Lilette is a Witch, but she grew up away from those like her. Her parents were murdered and she somehow managed to get away, being taken in by a fisherman named Fa. He told her never to sing, because that is how the witches got their power. But after his death Lilette found herself in a much unfortunate situation in which she would be marrying an older man, whom she planned on running away from. She made the mistake of singing and at that moment, Chen the son of the Emporer who killed her parents ends up finding her and taking her away to become his concubine.

Lilette's singing becomes a catalyst for the most unfortunate chain of events to happen including being poisoned, discovering her sister and other witches inside the town of Rinnish where she was living for the first time since their parents died, and finding her own way and what her true purpose was.

Everything about Witch Fall was amazing to me, from the concept of singing witches and the world building to the action and Amber Argyle's writing. Everything pulled me in from the very beginning and held me captivated page after page all the way to the inevitable ending that had me both heartbroken and full of hope. I definitely recommend reading this one and I'm most certainly going to continue reading this series--going back to the beginning of it.

I rate this book:
